Gallo is possibly a Panama/Yellow Naped Amazon. He is around 39 years of age. He was hand-carried to the United States after being purchased in Guatemala. He had rubbed his 'cheek' feathers off, but we have been applying coconut oil to help him with any irritation that he had. As you can see in the photo of him, they are growing back!

He loves to talk! He says "Hi!", "What you doing?" Want a peanut?", "yeah" and also has interesting mumbling conversations with himself or you. Like most Amazons, he can get a little loud. For example, if there are other birds in the house he wants to talk to. He also sings "I'm a beautiful bird", "Take me out to the ballpark", and some musical scales.
He steps up on a stick from the cage. Will step up on an arm from the floor or outside of the cage. Does not like scratched or petted. Does not seem too interested in fresh fruit or vegetables. But he loves nuts.

Gallo is letting them scritch his head through the cage bars!
Gallo is currently being fostered. If you want to meet Gallo, please contact us and let us know. :)
