Brie's Story...
2-3/4 years old, 45 pounds. Brie is a sweetheart. She wants to cuddle on the bed and we are trying to teach her that is not a 10 lb lap dog like she thinks. :) She listens wells and loves to go on walks too. She is very social and loves everyone she meets. She will get a little excited and talkative when she see's strange dogs on her walks but all she wants to do is say hi. Her vocal expressions sometimes. We have her wearing a head haltie though b/c she see's other dogs and wants to make sounds and go to them. This scares other people and the head harnness changes her direction and focus so we can continue to walk. I think with more exercise and more walks, this will calm. She just needs to be de-sensitized to all the new things outside. Brie is great with kids and other dogs. She loves toys and balls and bones of course!

She sadly, never gets any attention. We have had Brie for almost two years. She was surrendered to us full of puppies. two weeks after arrival, she delivered. Her previous owners had moved and left her behind in the old neighborhood and neighbors just kept seeing her wondering around looking for food. Finally, when she was pregnant someone called for help :( Back then she was a young pup less then a year.

All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and Heartworm negative unless otherwise noted. We require an adoption application, home visit and adoption fee of $200 ($150 for senior). You also get a two week trial period with all of our dogs. To apply, simply go to www.forgottenpaws.com.

Many of our dogs are in foster homes all over Atlanta, thus an application is required before an appointment can be set to meet a dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brie, a Acworth Retriever (Unknown Type)/Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Whippet for sale in Acworth, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Whippet dog from a breeder in Acworth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Acworth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Acworth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Whippet breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Acworth paves the way for another one to be saved.
