Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mr. Mixie
10 year old, Male, Classic Tabby Maine Coon
Courtesy Post: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this. Mr. Mixie is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA.
Are you looking for a sweet Maine Coon boy so you can run your hands lovingly through his thick luxurious coat? Do you enjoy grooming your fluffy fur companion who loves being groomed, particularly with a Zoom Groom? If this is one of the reasons you treasure a kitty, please consider giving Mr. Mixie a forever home.
We are told the grooming ritual is the way to make a bond with him. He will sit on your lap if you put him there and wait to be brushed. Once he gets to know his new human, he is a very loving and loyal boy. Yes, he may be a little reluctant at first to make friends, but all good things take patience, and we are sure that once you earn Mixie’s trust and friendship, it will be a lasting love affair.
Sadly, Mixie was surrendered because someone in his family developed allergies. Prior to being dropped off at the shelter, he has lived all his life with an adult and a child who is now a teenager. He will do best in a home with adults of any age or as part of a family with polite older children, age 14 and above. He will not appreciate the energy and activity level of young children which will send him into hiding.
Don’t be surprised if he startles and goes into hiding when hearing loud noises – middle age usually does that to most felines, unless they are deaf or have a very laissez faire attitude in general. Mixie will be shy when encountering new situations and people, so please understand that time and patience will be needed as he adjusts to his new living arrangement.
Please note that Mixie is not with Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue. We are courtesy posting him for the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA.
