Sammie's Friends is a 501©(3) non-profit corporation.  We provide medical care for the animals at the Nevada County Shelter, making them adoptable, and we support other disadvantaged animals in Nevada County that would otherwise be euthanized to end their suffering.  Sammie's Friends also operates the Nevada County Animal Shelter.  WE ARE A NO KILL SHELTER!

Meet Midnight. This older guy was left behind when his owner passed away. He was in the house alone for sometime and only had a neighbor who would come by to give him food and water and change the litter box. Finally, a relative from Nevada came and picked him up and brought him to the shelter. Midnight has been through enough. He lost his owner and the only home he knew. Now he is in a shelter with strange people and other cats. Midnight is 12 yrs old, he is de-clawed and neutered. Our hope is some really kind person finds Midnight the cat of their heart. Please come to the shelter and meet this kind, quiet cat.
