Mayo's Story...
I am a 3-year-old, 80-pound Black Lab. I was found on the side of a highway when I was a tiny puppy, with a mayonnaise jar stuck on my head. My rescuer, who I've been with since I was found, is retiring and will be traveling the country in an RV, so I am now in need of a new family since my current one doesn't feel they can manage me living in the RV with them. I have always been an indoor-only dog, and really need a family that will continue to allow me to live indoors. I love going for rides and long walks, and though I prefer humans, I am good with other dogs. I've had very little interaction with small children, but was a good boy when I've had the opportunity to meet them. I also go to the groomer regularly for baths and nail trims, and am always a very good boy!

I'm fully vaccinated, housebroken, crate-trained, and have been on heartworm prevention. For more information, please contact Amy at FloridaWild Wellness Center @ 386-740-0809.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mayo, a DeLand Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in DeLand, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in DeLand.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in DeLand already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a DeLand breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in DeLand paves the way for another one to be saved.
