Romeo's Story...
Young, male, Jack Russell Mix, hip injury

Hi, my name is Romeo. I am a 14 month-old Jack Russell mix. I was rescued by ARK from Polk County where I was about to be euthanized. I am a very loving and friendly puppy with one small problem. I have an injured hip that is causing me pain all the time. All I want is to be able to run and play like other puppies my age can, without it hurting so much. The good news is  my hip can be fixed. There is a surgery that will fix my hip. With this surgery, I will be able to run and play without hurting. This will also improve my chances of finding a good home. The surgery will cost around $800. Won't you please help me? Donations can be made at:

DeLand Animal Hospital
2120 E. International Speedway Blvd.,
DeLand  FL  32724   (386)734-1802

Just let them know the donation is for me, Romeo, and they will put it toward my fund. Thank you, everyone, for this chance to have a happy, healthy life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romeo, a DeLand Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in DeLand, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in DeLand.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in DeLand already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a DeLand breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in DeLand paves the way for another one to be saved.
