Foster Home Update:

Millenia is an active girl who will also loves to snuggle  and will jump in your lap if you sit down on the sofa.  She bonds with her humans  and given the opportunity, would prefer to sleep right beside her owner every night,  although she will sleep in her crate if instructed.

Millenia is a very playful pup, who is still young and that mean she loves to chew, so be sure to have plenty of chew toys available.  She is great with leash walking, but has a high prey drive, so lizards beware!  Millienia gets along with other dogs, particularly larger dogs,  and although smaller, will attempt to exert dominance.   She loves to play tug with other canine companions.  She'll also chase a tennis ball.

Millenia loves to run and is VERY fast, so daily exercise is required to release some of this energy.  She jumps extremely high, so a fenced yard is recommended.

Millenia does tend to nip when excitedly playing, so continued training is required.  Owners with no children or older children is probably ideal.

Millenia is one of the lucky puppieswent to CampDoglando for  two weeks~ Look for updated and pictures of her adventures!

Go to the Doglando web site below for the PRBJ camp-dogs’ webpages, pictures, and updates~

6/21 update: At CampDoglando, we found that Millenia loves her camper and bonded well with her~ She does have a high prey drive and didn't care much for her fellow canine campers. In fact, at times, she did nip at the other dogs. She bonded well with her camper, but then preferred her over other people.  With this in mind, we are suggesting a home with no other animals and an experienced alpha owner with no/older children who are familiar with dominant breeds. Her new owner(s) need be up continue working with her on pack order and socialization with people and animals.  Obedience training is recommended.

So Judy gets a late night call regarding a stray dog, and of course, she rescues the dog and names her Millenia.  She is great with our teen volunteers. We think she will make a good family pet as the only four legged princess in the house. As you can see from her photo Millenia is great with kids.

About Pet Rescue By Judy

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a private, non-profit rescue located in Sanford, Florida, dedicated to the rescue cats and dogs. Many of them come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources.

Our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about:
- proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love
- spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population
- low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in their local community
