Felix's Story...
Felix the Cat ain’t got nothin’ on me! Darn tootin’! I’m better lookin’ (just wait until my coat grows back, I’ll be cuter than ever), smarter, less of a troublemaker, and my personality is top notch. Now, I can be shy at first…I’ve been through a lot and it’s no surprise that I’m feeling a bit scared… But don’t worry, I warm up quick! Just give me a little time and I’ll be hanging out in your lap before ya know it. Gentle kids over 10 will fit in just great, and I love other dogs and cats too. I can’t wait to be part of a family that will give me the TLC I need, take me on daily walks and maybe even car rides, and give me plenty of lap time. I’m a great little fella, and with a little patience you’ll have yourself a loving little lap-size companion! 5 years old-12lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Felix, a Portland Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Portland, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
