Meet Jeffrey! This guy has it all -- good looks, smarts, fun personality, and a charming smile. What he doesn't have yet is a home of his own. He came into the shelter unwanted and scared. But after a few months of love and consistency, he's out of his shell and ready to find his "perfect" home. For Jeffrey, the perfect home would be one where he could be with his people the majority of the day, and where there is a secure, privacy fenced area for him to run and play. (Jeffrey is very smart, and can figure out how to climb over 4' and 6' chain link fences, and unlatch gates). He would be fine as an only dog, but would also not mind a doggie companion as long as he can be fed separately. Jeffrey would excel as a guardian of property and family, and would thrive with positive reinforcement training to help him reach his full potential.
Potential adopters need to meet Jeffrey in person, and possibly have multiple "meet and greet" visits, as he doesn't warm up to strangers immediately. After several visits, and treats, he will make the decision that you are a "friend" and allow you to interact with him. Our shelter staff and volunteers adore Jeffrey, and will be working hard with potential adopters to ensure that he goes to his perfect "forever home."
