Blakely's Story...
We are so pleased to introduce you to Blakely, a very special little girl with a huge heart. She is a Dachshund mix and about 3 years old.

Blakely came to us from a very sad situation. Her owner is a veteran who has devoted years to caring for strays and giving them every piece of his heart. Over the summer, he became very sick and had to be taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and never could go back home. Thanks to a couple of angels who had been helping him and his pups with expenses and care for the last couple of years, Blakely and her three fur siblings were able to be brought to CARA when it was learned that he would never get to go back home.

This precious girl is a tiny bit shy and sad, as her whole world changed that day. Her daddy loved her to the moon and with him, her world was perfect. She has a ton of love to give to someone who will give her a chance to show what a good girl she is. She obviously gets along with other dogs, as she did live with other dogs. Does someone have a spot in their home for a precious little girl?

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blakely, a Jackson Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
