Butler is a wonderfully sweet, loving, happy man who loves to play with toys and spends his day hanging out with his mom and his brother at our kennel house. Butler is so handsome that everyone wanted him as a puppy. We chose a home and unfortunately, it was too overwhelming for him. When they would go for walks, everyone wanted to pet the pretty pup and he got very scared with people constantly reaching for him and so he started to growl at people. He was soon returned. Since that time we have worked with him but he still doesn't seem interested in visiting with strangers that come to volunteer. He likes his comfort zone. He just avoids them. He runs around and plays but won't go to any of the volunteers. It will take him a short time to adjust to a new home. He does get nervous when strangers try to pet him or he thinks he is in trouble, or I just want to put flea meds on him (lol) and he will submissively pee. I think once he has a quiet home of his own he will trust his person and settle in more with a less chaotic life.

Butler's mother is a 32 lb beagle shepherd mix with a darling personality. Her name is Krissy and she is listed on the Medium Dog Page. She was living in the woods near and industrial park when we set a humane trap and got her before she delivered these beautiful pups. His brother is Spot also listed.

All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and Heartworm negative unless otherwise noted. We require an adoption application, home visit and adoption fee of $200 ($150 for senior). You also get a two week trial period with all of our dogs. To apply, simply go to

Many of our dogs are in foster homes all over Atlanta, thus an application is required before an appointment can be set to meet a dog.

About Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue is made up of a very small group of volunteers. We all work full time jobs while running this rescue group. We all dip into our own pockets on a daily basis to get these pets the medical care and supplies that they need to survive until we can find them their forever homes. Unfortunately, some of them have to wait in line for care because we do not have the monetary means to help them immediately. That is where your donations come in.

Our rescued pets live in our homes, under our supervision. We do our best to train, housebreak and perfect these pets to the best of our abilities so that when we do find them their forever homes, they work out.

We at Forgotten Paws revere our rescued pets like our own. We treat them like members of our families until they can be adopted. We are a NO KILL group and we also ask that if a pet does not work out for any reason, 2 days or 10 years down the road, please return them to us. We love them that much.

Our motto: When we rescue a pet, we are in it for life. We are not just looking for a home, we are looking for the right home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Process:
October only, adoption fee is $100, that's half the price!
1. All applicants must be 23 years of age and must complete an adoption application.
2. You application will be reviewed and all veterinary and personal references will be contacted
3. Home Visit / Play Date - All household members, including current pets, are required to attend the home visit. All needed repairs to fencing must be completed prior to this visit. Gates to the yard need to be securing locked.
4. Two Week Trial Adoption Period - We require the two week trial on all adoptions so that the new pet has time to get settled and their true personalities can surface. It gives the new home a chance to make sure this pet is the right fit for everyone involved. Please understand that like a child, a new pet needs time to adjust and settle in. There is an adjustment period.
5. Adoption Agreement and Adopton Fee of $200 ($150 for seniors).
6. One policy to note: If you have children and you are applying for a dog, we will require you to have a physically fenced yard. Electric fencing is not acceptable in most cases but exceptions are sometimes made dependent upon the dog.

You can find the adoption application at
