Allie's Story...
Hello there. I know that I look like a large girl, but I feel like a tiny little lap dog. You see, I am a sensitive soul that enjoys to be curled up close. No one told me that at over 60 lbs I was too big for lap time. Being close makes me feel safe and loved. Once we get better acquainted, get ready to see my goofy side as I jump, run, and toss toys around. If you are willing to take some time with me, you will see that I am sweet girl that wants nothing more than to give and receive love. Speaking of receiving love, I very much enjoy the ear rubs. Oh, these long hound ears enjoy being rubbed! Because I am very noise sensitive, I would appreciate a quiet forever home with older children (12+) who are aware of my needs. With a little support and training, I am sure that I can find my confidence so that I can better navigate the world. Your time and patience will be handsomely rewarded with tail wags, soft gazes, and cuddles. If your home includes other canines, please talk to the staff about arranging a meet and greet prior to my adoption. My shy nature extends to dogs as well. Therefore, I would do best with a patient and dog-savvy canine companion. Are you the person I need to help me blossom? Come visit me today and let's get to know one another better.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Allie, a Harrisonburg Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Plott Hound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
