1-3/4 years old, 55 pounds. Panda is bouncy and playful. He loves butterflies and chasing chipmunks. He is a people dog and doesn't really care about the other dogs. He wants to be near is his foster mom more then anything. He is a good boy. He will lay and chew on toys and bones all by himself. He loves to go for walks and is pretty easy going after he settles in to the walk. At first he is bouncy. Panda is not doing well with out rule of all four paws on the ground for pets. He thinks he is so cute he can ignore that rule. LOL We keep working on it. He would also be a lap dog if that were allowed :) Panda needs a home with a fenced yard or someone willing to work on his walking skills to burn off a little energy. He is good with all kids but I feel he would not want to live 24/7 with kids. He is like a big kid himself and small toys would not fair well in his presence. I love this big fruitcake but he really needs a home who has time for him one on one.

Panda went to a home with cats. At first he was terrified of them. After about 4 days he decided it would be fun to chase them. He was not being aggressive just taunting so I know he could be trained with consistency.

History: Panda came out of Clayton County Animal Control. He had been left behind in a house when his owners moved and he and his brother abandoned. He was very scared at the shelter and started growling at everyone so they slatted him to be killed. A rescue pulled his pretty blonde brother and left him to die. One of our volunteers saw his photos and wanted to save him. I put a hold on him and went to get him. The officers at Animal Control refused to get him out of the cage. They wouldn't even go near him b/c he was being vicious. I fed him a few treats, talked to him then opened the gate and slipped leash on him. Suddenly he was bouncing around, being happy and ready to get his freedom ride. He was just completely terrified and it almost cost him his life. :( I have never seen one growl out of him at all since that day.

All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and Heartworm negative unless otherwise noted. We require an adoption application, home visit and adoption fee of $200 ($150 for senior). You also get a two week trial period with all of our dogs. To apply, simply go to

Many of our dogs are in foster homes all over Atlanta, thus an application is required before an appointment can be set to meet a dog.

About Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Forgotten Paws Pet Rescue is made up of a very small group of volunteers. We all work full time jobs while running this rescue group. We all dip into our own pockets on a daily basis to get these pets the medical care and supplies that they need to survive until we can find them their forever homes. Unfortunately, some of them have to wait in line for care because we do not have the monetary means to help them immediately. That is where your donations come in.

Our rescued pets live in our homes, under our supervision. We do our best to train, housebreak and perfect these pets to the best of our abilities so that when we do find them their forever homes, they work out.

We at Forgotten Paws revere our rescued pets like our own. We treat them like members of our families until they can be adopted. We are a NO KILL group and we also ask that if a pet does not work out for any reason, 2 days or 10 years down the road, please return them to us. We love them that much.

Our motto: When we rescue a pet, we are in it for life. We are not just looking for a home, we are looking for the right home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Process:
October only, adoption fee is $100, that's half the price!
1. All applicants must be 23 years of age and must complete an adoption application.
2. You application will be reviewed and all veterinary and personal references will be contacted
3. Home Visit / Play Date - All household members, including current pets, are required to attend the home visit. All needed repairs to fencing must be completed prior to this visit. Gates to the yard need to be securing locked.
4. Two Week Trial Adoption Period - We require the two week trial on all adoptions so that the new pet has time to get settled and their true personalities can surface. It gives the new home a chance to make sure this pet is the right fit for everyone involved. Please understand that like a child, a new pet needs time to adjust and settle in. There is an adjustment period.
5. Adoption Agreement and Adopton Fee of $200 ($150 for seniors).
6. One policy to note: If you have children and you are applying for a dog, we will require you to have a physically fenced yard. Electric fencing is not acceptable in most cases but exceptions are sometimes made dependent upon the dog.
