Facts about Dory

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 91139
  • Hair: Unknown
Dory may look like a more sedate girl, but she can party like a kitten! This is, of course, in cat like fashion - when she wants to! Here at the shelter, she particularly loves our tall A-frame scratcher. Dory will hide on it (to stalk), sit on it, climb it, cling all over it, and naturally, scratch it! She also loves wand-type toys and feather poles. Dory will occasionally express some interest in playing with other cats. She doesn't mind other felines, but will need her very own special places. Dory enjoys affection, but is not needy like some cats, so she will let you know when she's had enough. This might entail a little pat or a love-nibble. Often she is perfectly content with just your companionship. Dory should do fine in a home with another cat or two, but smaller children might not understand the finer points of feline communication.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.
