My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name?
Hi, my name is Simon.

How old are you?
I’m between 18 months and 2 years old in human years. Dr. Johnson said that she had a pretty accurate guess on my age after she completed my neuter surgery.

What do you look like?
I have an adorable big ‘ol white head and a beefy short body! My mom thinks I have some bulldog mixed into me, but who knows who my ancestors were, she says your guess is as good as hers. I have tan patches accenting my white fur, big dopey feet and a smile that goes for miles.

What do you like to eat?
I love food! I mean I really love food! Any kind of food you offer me, I will gladly eat! I will do ANYTHING you ask if you pay me in food!

What kind of personality do you have?
I have a great on and off switch. Meaning, I need and want to play and exercise, but then after that I am a professional cuddler and relaxer. I love to snooze as much as I love to play! I am very attentive to my foster mom. I have great eye contact and I listen very well. I am still learning and if it were left up to me I might make a few bad decisions, but as long as my people provide me with good direction I am a very good boy.

Describe your perfect day:
My perfect day would include these 5 things:
1. One leash walk with the other dogs in my home
2. One mental/physical activity such as Frisbee practice, fetch or skateboarding with my human friend Christian, my daily dog exerciser. On rainy days I like to practice my tricks for treats.
3. Breakfast and dinner
4. A bully stick or marrow bone in my kennel
5. Snuggle time with family

What is your favorite toy?
I love toys! My foster mom keeps all of the toys up in the house to keep them special. But then a few times a day she takes me outside and we play fetch! Frisbees are my favorite, but I like Chuck-it balls too!

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
When I am home alone I stay in my kennel. I am PERFECT in my kennel. I love to jump in my kennel the second my mom asks me to, because usually that means I am going to get a peanut butter filled kong to snack on while she is gone.

Where do you sleep?
I sleep wherever I am asked to sleep. My foster mom rotates us around so that we all get a bit of special time with her, so some nights I sleep in my crate, some nights I sleep on the dog bed in her room and about once a week she invites me up on her bed to cuddle with her.

What do you love about your foster family?
I love that they have been patient with me and helped show me the ropes about living in a house. They saw potential in me and cared enough to take me in. They are helping prepare me for my forever family, which I’m very grateful for.

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
I was an outside dog. I was found as a stray, but then my owner came to the shelter looking for me. I thought he was going to take me back home with him, but he never came back with the money to pay for me to go home. That is ok though, I forgive him, and I have a pretty amazing life ahead of me now!

If you are interested in meeting Simon, please fill out an adoption application at www.evenchance.org/adopt and an Even Chance representative will be in touch.

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for your and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
