Poor Khek has had a string of bad luck. He was brought in to a rural East Tennessee animal shelter as a stray, was adopted......then returned months later for being a fence escape artist, and his humans did not want to leash walk him. He then passed temperament testing to be transferred to a no-kill shelter up north, but upon arriving to the no-kill shelter, he was so stressed he bit another dog during their temperament testing. He sat in quarantine for two weeks, then was given the option of being euthanized or rescued. Khek deserved another chance, so he was brought back down to East Tennessee, where he's now sitting in boarding while hoping that someone will fall in love with him.
Khek is a loving, gentle, sweet dog. He wants to be with people, and we want to give him a chance at finding the right home without having to go through the shelter system again. He will roam if left unattended outside in fencing or kennels, so he needs a home where his people are committed to leash walks for exercising and potty breaks. He is house trained, and just really wants to be home inside with his family. He was a model canine citizen during his stays at the East TN shelter, never giving his care takers any problems. He also never displayed any issues with other dogs while at this shelter. However, we will only be adopting him to a home without other pets. He is fine with all humans, even children. He loves attention and treats! He's a strong guy on a leash, and needs to learn to not pull when excited. If you think this sweet guy could be for you, let us know!
Khek is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and up-to-date on monthly preventatives. We estimate hisDOB to be around 01/01/2010. He is currently in boarding in East Tennessee. His adoption fee is $300, which includes all vetting and transport.
