Facts about Blossom

  • Species: Guinea Pig
  • Color: White
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 17-01-01
  • Hair: Unknown
Blossom is an adorable big, white, Abyssinian female guinea pig who is looking for a companion (we will not adopt her out alone). Her owner surrendered her to the Rescue because the family was moving across the country during the heat wave and they were concerned the 10-day drive would be too stressful for Blossom.

Blossom was adopted from a local animal shelter as a baby and was in a loving home where she was doted on. She also saw the vet for annual physicals. She is friendly and curious, and loves human companionship.

Blossom has an excellent appetite for her Oxbow Cavy Performance pellets and Timothy hay, and she enjoys a variety of fresh vegetables. Blossom and her new friend will need to live in a Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes and be in a family part of the house so everyone can enjoy their company. We also ask that anyone adopting her lives a reasonable driving distance from Mt. Airy, MD.

The adoption fee for Blossom will be $35 as she is an intact female (so any males she meets must be neutered). Are you interested in finding out more about adopting this lovable lady, or have a lonely piggie who might like to meet her to see if they will get along? Then please send an e-mail to

About Small Angels Rescue Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Small Angels was founded in fall of 2003 when the organizers recognized a need for a group to help small animals abandoned at animal shelters. The Rescue was founded as a way to move these animals into foster homes for socialization and proper, attentive care, as well as streamline the adoption process and provide accurate, thorough information to adopters about these often misunderstood animals.

Small Angels is a 501(3)(3) nonprofit, no‐kill, all‐volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters and gerbils. Animals are acquired directly via public surrenders and from local shelters and animal welfare groups. We use an extensive network of foster homes to care for the animals until we can find them a forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Small Angels Rescue does not have a physical shelter—we care for animals through our network of foster care homes. We have monthly adoption events at the Frederick Petco and various Bark locations in Montgomery County. Not all breeds are brought to adoption events. Most adoptions take place at the animal's foster home or at an animal coordinator's house.

Our Adoption Process...

Small Angels Rescue’s adoption process is straightforward. Adopters must fill out an adoption application. There is an application for guinea pigs and a separate application for other animals. Once we have the completed application, we interview the adopter by phone or e-mail to clear up any questions and concerns about the application—including whether the adopter meets our cage requirements and has the proper supplies—and to ensure that the adopter has all of the information needed to properly care for the animal. At the time of adoption, adopters must sign an adoption contract.

Adoption fees: Mice, Gerbils, Hamsters & Rats: $10 each for the first three animals, then $5 each thereafter. Guinea Pigs: $35 each unaltered, $45 neutered males, $55 spayed females.
