Hughie's Story...
Meet Hughie… he is the staff’s favorite little guy! He is blind in one eye, and can make out shadows with the other. You would never know this boy is a senior, he refuses to act like one! He is spunky, lovable and in need of a an owner with patience and who can transition Hughie into his new surroundings. Hughie does not get along with other dogs. We have tried several meet and greets with other dogs and have dog tested him. He does not seem to mind cats. We noticed he catches onto his surroundings very quickly and memorizes his paths when he is taken out for a walk. His only requirement…lot’s of love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hughie, a Port Jervis Cairn Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Port Jervis, or seeking a Cairn Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Port Jervis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Jervis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Jervis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Cairn Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Jervis paves the way for another one to be saved.
