My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like young energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless in Kansas. A kind rescuer temporarily took Bree in to prevent her from euthanasia in a high-kill Kansas shelter...and was told by her landlord that she couldn't stay. Off Bree went again to what this rescuer thought was the only possibility in this rural area...the shelter. This woman, recognizing the wonderful and very sweet temperament of the dog she had just relinquished had the shelter contact us. Farfel's was told about the great personality and over- the- top cuteness of this special puppy and made the decision to help Bree find her first ever forever family. She deserves a great home and loving guardian just as much as any other sweet puppy with a great temperament.

Bree, at just 10 - 12 weeks old and 5.5 lbs (anticipating a full-grown weight of approximately 12 - 15 lbs), was facing the possible end of her life just as it was beginning. ...she was rescued from the shelter just in the nick of time. This sweet and engaging Poodle with perhaps a bit of Havanese in the mix (a designer mix breed that's loved for it's super-soft coat and engaging personalities) is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.

Bree is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age..and an excellent lap dog and best friend. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of these breeds. She's also bright and so loving (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..young puppy energy may call). Bree clearly has no memory of her scary early life. Since Bree is such a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Bree will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world... as well as puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with appropriate behavior.

We're very open to Bree finding her forever home with an active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a young puppy. A younger family with gentle, older children who love dogs would also be a great choice. Bree is known to do very well with children of all ages and other dogs are very fun for Bree.

Bree is up to date on her vetting, but has yet to be spayed. We're hoping that she will be fixed when she arrives from Kansas, however a puppy like Bree is often deemed too young to be fixed. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Bree to be spayed and micro chipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Bree will be arriving on transport in Denver on Thursday 9/1/16. If interested in this beautiful and very sweet and loving companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
