Betty Heart's Story...
Betty Heart's Story...
Betty is an adorable, quirky Labrador we think Pug mix with a silver-speckled silky black coat, saved from a high-kill rescue in Texas. We estimate her age at 2 years. She's a goofy, excitable girl who seems to have unlimited energy, but is perfectly happy curled up on a dog bed and is quiet and happy in the house. Her fosters have discovered that she seems to really like hiking, so she would make a great companion for an active family. As she gets acclimated to life outside of the shelter, Betty is still a little timid of all these new situations, but she warms up very quickly. Betty's fosters continue to make progress with Betty's training (she is house-trained and crate-trained), and have noticed that Betty walks very well next to another dog, as it seems to give her confidence. While not necessary, Betty would benefit greatly from a home with another dog to follow. More info: Betty does great in my fenced yard, she will curiously watch as I do weeding but she has never dug. She has loved the hikes we have gone on, and is learning to be a great running buddy. She does not seem to have much of a prey drive, I am fairly certain she would do well around chickens. She is a fun and quirky dog, if you love labs/lab mixes you will definitely want to meet Betty! Adoption Fee: $595 - Includes spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, heart worm test, grooming, microchip, boarding fees, health certificate and transport cost from Texas to Seattle. This adoption fee will also go towards helping many of our rescued dogs who are in desperate need of orthopedic surgery, dental and teeth extractions, and other veterinary care. If you are interested in Betty, please email firstname.lastname@example.org!
Ginger’s Pet Rescue is one of the largest non-profit pet rescue organizations in Washington state, and we specialize in saving Death Row Dogs. Our mission is to give homeless animals with no hope the life they deserve through rescue, foster and adoption. We rely on a large network of fosters in the Seattle area, who provide our dogs with love and care during transition from rescue to adoption. We do not have a physical shelter location; to meet the dogs in our rescue, contact us to connect with a foster or join us at an adoption event!
Ginger’s Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We rely solely on the support from adoption fees and donations to help us provide for the ~100+ dogs in our rescue at any given time.
How We Rescue
We take in dogs from local families in need, in state and out of state shelters, and we also work with overseas rescue groups on occasion. We do not discriminate – we rescue dogs small and big, old and young, healthy and sick, purebred and Heinz 57! Our belief is that every dog deserves a forever home. Our History
Ginger’s Pet Rescue was founded in 2006 by Ginger Luke after saving one Dachshund’s life turned into a life-long endeavor. The organization is dedicated to providing great care for our dogs and adoption efforts!
Come Meet Our Pets...
Ginger's Pet Rescue has all our dogs in foster care.
You must complete an application and then you can meet the dogs by appointment with the foster dog parents.
You may also come to one of our adoption events to meet our adoptable dogs and fill out an application in person: www.gingerspetrescue.org/events
Our Adoption Process...
The first step to adopting a pet from Ginger’s Pet Rescue is completing our Adoption Application and email to email@example.com or submit via our Contact Form on our website. This application will allow us to know more about your family, what kind of pet will fit best and your home, and whether you will be a good match for one of our dogs. Please include the dog(s) you are interested in on the application. We review applications upon receipt and will reply as soon as possible, usually within 1-2 days.
Adoption fees range from $300-$700 depending on a number of the factors, and adoption fees are what allow us to continue our rescue, as our primary source of funding.
If for any reason the dog does not work out, we are willing to take the dog back and refund your adoption fee less a $100 rehoming fee.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
