After the great flood in August 2016, MHRR took in several adoptable rabbits. While her home didn't flood, it is currently housing a lot of people whose homes did.
Elsie is a young bun (approx 7 months old). She is social and curious, comes right up to the front of the pen and sits for pets. She has been around cats and dogs. She isn't crazy about being picked up and definitely doesn't like being put in a harness. She is not litter box trained yet but we'll be working on that since she's no longer on a wire bottom floor.
This bun is currently fostered in Baton Rouge, LA
MHRR spays/neuters all rabbits prior to adoption. Rabbits are tattoed 'MHR' in the ear during their spay or neuter (unless done prior to arrival at MHRR). Adoption fees are $50 for single bunnies or $70 for already-paired rabbits. Adoption application required.
Adoption days are held at Petsmart on Millerville in Baton Rouge (see our website for dates). Transport to other areas can sometimes be arranged after adoption application approval. We also offer 'foster-to-adopt' which is a trial run to see if a pet is the right fit prior to adoption. See magichappensrescue.com/adoptinfo for more information and an adoption application.
Want to help the bunnies but can't adopt? You can sponsor a spay or neuter or help in many other ways. See http://magichappensrescue.com/howtohelp for more ways to help.
