Facts about Ruby

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
  • Color: Brindle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10501535

This brindle beauty is Ruby who was found as a stray, full of milk, but no puppies.  Her ears have been cropped by someone who had no idea what they were doing, so she did not come from a good home. One would think that Ruby would be angry and full of mistrust, but quite the contrary! Ruby LOVES adults, kids, other dogs and cats!! Ruby is protective of her family and will intervene if she thinks someone is in danger. Because of this, Ruby should not go to a home where children playing loudly or screaming as that could be misinterpreted as one of them being in danger.  She has some kennel anxiety but she is working through that with Good Decisions Dog Training. Ruby is current on her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative and house-trained. She walks well on a leash and knows her basic commands. Ruby is a smart and affectionate dog who just wants a family to love her and keep her safe and healthy. Her estimated DOB is May of 2011 and she weighs about 52 lbs. She would enjoy a home with a fenced yard and a family who will include her in their daily lives. If you'd like this sweetie to be a part of your family contact Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue!

About Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue (NNKCR) was formed by five people who had a dream that one day all adoptable dogs in Lancaster County would find loving homes.

To accomplish this, we do three things:
Rescue dogs
Rehabilitate dogs
Re-home dogs

NNKCR is a 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit dog rescue group. We provide emergency foster care for homeless dogs, veterinary care for dogs in our care and find forever homes for homeless dogs. NNKCR is an all-volunteer organization, and 100% of all funds donated go toward our rescue efforts and the dogs in our care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We take advantage of local events sponsored by businesses such as PetSmart, PetCo, Subaru, Verizon and Tractor Supply Company, as well as local fund raisers put on by rescue groups. We are also happy to arrange meet and greets with people who would like to see a dog they saw on our website or at an adoption event.

Our Adoption Process...

All prospective adopters contact the group via our website and are required to fill out an adoption form. Volunteers check references and do a home visit. A "meet and greet" is arranged if other family members or pets are involved.
Adoption fees are generally $250.00 for dogs 6 months to 7 years; $150.00 for dogs over 7 years. If a puppy is adopted, the adoption fee is $450.00, but $200 of that is refunded once we have documentation that the animal has been altered. All adult dogs are altered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and tested for heartworm. If the adoption does not work out, NNCKR requires that the dog be returned to us.
