No catchy lines, no funny quips. Just me. An estimated 14 year old fluffy girl who has had the longest string of hard times. What is known of my story is heartbreaking. Why? Because no one wants me. I wasn’t found by a great family when I was young and now I’m too old to invest time into. “She won’t live much longer” they say as they walk past to the kitten next to me at the event and take them home. “She’ll shed all over the house” they say as they adopt the short haired girl my age. “She’ll scratch up everything and be cranky and mean” they say as they look at my face. I’m not a mean cat. I’ve just given up.
I have been adopted 3 times and every time returned and that’s just while I’ve lived with my current foster Mommy. Each time the story is different of what I have done to not deserve a forever family. Sadly the only constant I know is going back to the same foster, in the same bedroom, with whatever cats are there that month. I have watched over 15 adult cats get adopted out of my foster home while I wait patiently for my turn.
My story got even longer this month, after my third return, because they found out I had a tumor. I went in for surgery and did great – I’m a vet favorite you see – I was told it was benign and they got it all! They also took some of my teeth that were hurting, but my mouth feels so much better now and my stitches are already gone! I look a little embarrassing with a shaved shoulder, but I’m so fluffy hopefully no one will notice.
Down to the must know details that I need to tell you... I love to eat, even with the missing teeth I still can eat both wet and dry food. I have never gone outside my litterbox in my foster home. I love my cardboard scratchy thing so I have never scratched any furniture here either. I love to be petted, play with the occasional toy, and just be lazy with you on a couch or in bed. I don’t mind the huge dogs in my foster home and while I am not a huge fan of other cats I am not a fighter. If I had to have a cat sibling I would prefer they were older or respected my space. I love to be petted!! If you stop petting me, I will gently paw you so you know you’re not done yet! I love baseball caps and shoes – they make great things to rub my cheeks on and purr my heart out!
I know my foster Mom will always take me back, but she keeps telling me that I was returned because there was an even better family out there for me - someone who would look into my eyes and know they could never give me up in a million years. If you have actually read all of this about me maybe you could be the human I’ve waited a lifetime for… for that I would be the best cat I can be, like my foster Mommy keeps telling everyone I am.
