Facts about The Three Amigos (ChaCha)

  • Breed: Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
ChaCha was surrender by her owner along with her brother, Oso, and sister, Gorda. The shelter took photos of them in the backseat of the owner's car because they were too afraid to get out. We rescued them because we have a soft spot for families and fearful/shy dogs, that have no choice in how or why they ended up at the shelter. The shelter they were surrendered to in Texas, kills an average of 10 dogs per day. The fearful, skittish and shy are the first to go. So are the large dogs. And the owner surrenders are often walked right back to the kill room and put to sleep before anyone even knows they are there. We didn't even find out until two or more weeks after they were rescued, whether they were boys and/or girls! We just knew they needed help and, FAST! We decided to call them, The Three Amigos.

We would LOVE for them to be adopted together so that their family could stay in tact. But, we realize the idea of adopting one dog is a big decision, much less adopting three might be too overwhelming for one family. We do hope to keep the dogs in touch with each other in the future, at the very least. So we would want a family adopting only one to be open and willing to meet up with the others for play dates periodically.

ChaCha is the most shy of the three, perhaps because she is the smallest. She only weighs approximately 50 pounds. ChaCha is still unsure about walking on a leash and often seeks refuge behind her big sister. She does get along well with other dogs and has somewhat of a quirky and fun personality that she willingly shows you, once she trusts you. The Three Amigos are all around 2 years of age and, may be littermates. They appear to be potty trained but we are unsure as to whether they've even seen the inside of a house before. We would require their new family to have a fenced yard because they are fearful and shy, and they should be "indoor dogs" for the same reason. If you would like to consider adding ChaCha, Oso and Gorda (or any one of them) to your family and provide a forever and better life than before, please contact me for more information. NO TEXT MESSAGES PLEASE!
