My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GULLIVER is a 4 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 73 pounds. GULLIVER is one handsome, friendly chocolate drop of love! He came to the shelter as a stray (or perhaps as a secret agent?!) and he’s ready for a whole new start. From LR evaluator: He is a little shy for a few minutes, but warms up quickly. He loves attention and gives lots of it back. He prefers tennis balls over rope or squeaky toys. Such a boy! Gulliver appears housetrained. No issues in his run. Curious, focused, but relaxed as we spent time together. I would recommend a harness, he is strong and pulls a bit. He was very relaxed with shelter staff he already bonded with. Great overall personality. He only knows sit so a training course would benefit both Gully and his adopter. From LR transporter: Gulliver was perfect in the car. He has a dark chocolate coat with caramel eyes. Really handsome face. Does well in the car; pulls a bit but I had a harness which made it easier. Seems to enjoy being petted and spending time with humans. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Gulliver is beginning to settle into his new foster home, and he is becoming more comfortable as he adjusts to a new environment. With an abundance of playful energy, Gulliver's favorite activity is retrieving tennis balls, and he will do so tirelessly for as long as anyone is willing to throw one for him. He even sits while waiting for someone to toss the ball again! Inside the house, Gulliver is still a bit restless but is clearly becoming more adjusted to his surroundings. He gets along fine with the other dogs in his foster home but doesn't interact much with them. While he does sometimes jump up on people, particularly if there is food involved, he is quickly learning that that is unacceptable and has made progress in that area. All in all, Gulliver is a playful, energetic dog who will benefit from some training and lots of exercise.

Update: From Foster. Gulliver is one lovable hunk of chocolate. He enjoys ear and head scratches, food and tennis balls. Get your arm in shape as he will retrieve tennis balls for as long as you are willing to throw them.
