My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Emma and I can’t wait to jump into your arms! I’m a beautiful girl; not at all bashful. My foster parents call me a sweet, loving and spirited puppy. I’m about 7 months old and weigh in at roughly 23 pounds (my foster parents think I could stand to gain a couple of more pounds).

I have two beagle foster siblings, whom I love very much. We run and play in the yard (sometimes in the house too). I have two foster feline sibs too. I chase and torment them, so I would probably do better in a home without cats.

I’m pretty much house trained. I’ve only had a couple of accidents. I would learn quickly at your house.

Did I tell you I love running around in the back yard? My most favoritest thing! Please have a fence for me, I need the exercise— after all I’m still a pup. I like to smell the grass and the flowers and dig the occasional hole. My foster parents do tell me “no” and I mostly listen to them. I’m trying very hard to be a good dog— still, I am a puppy and there is much you can teach me.

My favorite toys are: Almost anything. Toys without much stuffing are better. I tend to eat the stuffing. I love taking my toys from room to room to chew. I love Kongs® especially with peanut butter stuck in the ends and frozen! I get one after my 2nd meal of the day. I’m very quick at finding things to chew.
Please don’t leave small items on floor that I might chew; I might swallow them.
Things I really like: Running and playing; cuddling on your lap or next to you; just being with you.
Things I don't like: Not being with you! I don’t like to be in crate more than 3 hours. I don’t like being outside on a lead; please take me on a leash to go outside. I’m afraid sometimes of unfamiliar noises outside and inside… I just need to learn what they are, and grow accustomed to my new surroundings.
I’m crate trained: Yes; but I will pout for the first few minutes. I need water while in the crate, so make sure you have the dish that attaches to side of crate. I would certainly spill it if not attached to side. (And remember-don’t leave me in crate for more than 3 hours). I’m a good dog and can hang out with my other beagle friends and can sometimes have the run of the house!
At night I’m happy to sleep in my bed on the floor in the bedroom next to you! Just tell me it’s time to go to bed! Sometimes I sleep with the people. J I usually sleep with my brother and sister beagles on a special bed the people made just for me. No alarm clock needed. I will wake you up with kisses xoxoxo.
I will let you know that I need to go outside by going towards the door. I can start wandering around looking for a good place to pee or poop. You will just need to watch me carefully to pick up on my signals. I can be really subtle. You will figure it out quickly.
My Promise: I will love you forever and ever. I will be very loyal and protect your family always.
Love, Emma
