Gigi''s foster mom says, `GiGi is a very quiet and mellow kitty who enjoys a good game of chasing the `bird` at the end of a wand toy. She is a confident cat who is willing to meet new people as long as they let her make the first move. She enjoys sitting near people but is not a lap cat. She loves to be brushed around her head and face and lets you know when she''s had enough.

GiGi seems to have a food allergy and should be fed a limited ingredient diet (there are many brands available dry and canned at pet supply stores). She also takes an over-the-counter antihistamine (Zyrtec) daily.

Gigi is a nice cat who is content to spend time alone, doesn''t require a lot of attention or entertainment but does like to be around her people. She also gets along fine with other cats and seems to be okay with dogs.`

I''m a little shy but I love attention!

Act quickly to adopt GIGI. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

About Austin Animal Center

About Our Shelter...

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.

Our Adoption Process...

Our standard Adoption fee for healthy, younger pets is $75. Pets over 5 years old have no adoption fee. Adoption includes a microchip and collar & tags, all the vaccinations a pet is old enough to receive, and spay or neuter surgery.
Adopters must be at least 18 yrs old with a current photo ID. Pets already in the home should have a current rabies vaccination and we may need to confirm permission for adoption from the owner of the property where an adopter lives.
