Bane is a 5 mos old staffordshire terrier mix puppy who was original seized in a cruelty case. He was very underweight but has made up for missed meals over the past 2 months. He is healthy and has been happy since day one. He is a typically kissy terrier who is silly and funny, yet can be laid back at times, too. He sits on command when his wigglebutt will allow him. He is crate-trained and housebroken and likes to play with other dogs, so another tolerant and gently playful pup would be a great match for him. Bane is respectful of dogs who correct him, but responds to the energy level of other dogs. High-energy, hyperactive dogs seem to cause Bane some stress. Bane is interested in cats, but has not been aggressive. He actually seems scared of them, and would probably be more comfortable in a home without cats.

Otherwise, Bane is a typical puppy who explores his environment and is quick to put object in his mouth (think shoes and such) but will readily trade for an appropriate toy. He is very smart and we expect a fine companion as he matures. This little fellow currently weighs in at 26 lbs and will likely max out at 40-50 lbs at adulthood.

Current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative.

*Before applying for a puppy under 6 months old, please note that we are looking for homes where someone is home frequently, or for those applicants who work 8 hr work days, we ask that you have made arrangements for someone to come home at least once during the day to allow the dog to go out for a potty break.

Puppies go through multiple teething stages during their first year.  Providing your puppy with appropriate toys specially designed for teething puppies can prevent damage to belongings, but more importantly, prevent your dog from choking or suffering a dangerous intestinal obstruction. During the earlier stages, crate him or her when you can't directly supervise him.

*Local adoptions (within 30 min of New Orleans area) preferred. We do NOT ship animals

About Pet Adoption Services, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Adoption Services, Inc. is a non-profit all breed cat and dog rescue organization in New Orleans. Supported by over 20 volunteer members, Pet Adoption Services was founded in 1996, although some of our members have been involved in rescue for over 20 years. Our mission is to secure loving permanent homes for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and dogs of all breeds. While awaiting adoption, our animals live in the homes of one of our foster parents. During this time the animals receive any necessary veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccinations, spaying or neutering and heartworm treatment. Our experienced foster parents continually assess each pet's personality and temperament allowing us to place adoptable cats and dogs in just the right permanent home. Pet Adoption Services participates in adoption days during which time, potential adopters get the opportunity to meet and spend time with the animals in a "real life" situation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Because each of our rescues lives in the home of one of our fosterparents, arrangements will be made for the adopter to meet the pet in which they are interested. Also, PAS holds a monthly adoption day at the Petsmart on Veterans Blvd in Metairie.

Our Adoption Process...

The average adoption fee for dogs is $150, though some adoption fees may be occasionally lower or a bit higher. All animals offered for adoption are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative or undergoing treatment, up to date on vaccinations, treated for intestinal parasites, and microchipped. In addition to completing an adoption contract, potential adopters should be prepared to agree to a veterinarian reference check and home visit. A valid drivers license or state I.D. card is required. This simple yet thorough screening process allows us to place the right animal in your committed, loving home.
