Pinky's Story...
Approx DOB: May 2016

Pinky, Boo, and Luna were born under a shed and were eventually trapped after they were fully weaned from their feral mom. Even though they were “feral,” they have socialized very quickly and become accustomed to household noises like the vacuum and tv. All three are in the process of becoming fantastic and loving indoor companion cats. They all love to play and love their toys.

Pinky is very playful and the most intrepid, curious, and active of the three. Shy is not in her vocabulary! She is very loving and affectionate and is great with using a scratching post.

Boo is also very playful and active but a bit more cautious than her sister, Pinky. Boo is really coming along well in terms of being cuddled and becoming less shy. Right now, she’s a great balance of playfulness and independence.

Luna is very sweet and loves to be petted. She’s also the most shy of the three, although her foster mom says she may also just be the calmest of the trio. Luna now loves playtime and all of her toys. She’ll just need a little patience in her forever home until she gets comfortable and familiar with her surroundings.

This kitty has had her initial vaccinations, de-worming, flea preventative, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and been micro-chipped and altered (or will be micro-chipped and altered prior to adoption).

Adoption fee is 1/2 off for the second kitty adopted at same time. Adoption application, phone interview, home visit, and adoption fee required (+ PA Sales tax).

If you are interested in adopting a kitty(s), we ask that you complete an on-line adoption application to get the process started. To apply, simply go to / ADOPT tab / CAT Adoption Application. You will receive a welcome email once your application has been assigned to a volunteer processor (this should be within 72 hours of submitting an application). If you do not receive such an email, contact Once your application has been processed (this can take approx. 10-14 days), we will arrange contact with the foster to schedule a time to meet kitties you might be interested in. We are an all volunteer organization and appreciate your patience during this process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pinky, a Carlisle Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Carlisle, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Carlisle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carlisle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carlisle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carlisle paves the way for another one to be saved.
