Hi there! My name's Paxton, but my foster mom calls me a lot of things (including sushi-on-chopsticks, turkey neck, bean pole, sweetness and honey bun!).  I am reminiscent of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon, and I am quite the chatterbox! I love greeting people and letting them know when I'm hungry or want to snuggle and play. I LOVE snuggling in laps, on chests, over arms and up against cheeks, especially when it's time for bed. I purr as soon as you pet me, and I love to snuggle and purr until my foster mom falls asleep with me tucked under her chin.

I really love catnip (but usually only if it's contained!) and will have endless fun when I'm given a pouch of catnip or a mouse with catnip in it.  I get really thirsty, and sometimes I sit and drink for ten minutes!  I'm really good at covering my excrement in my litter box, but I can be a little messy and excessive when I throw the litter around and spread it all over the floor (I do really well with a litter mat!).

I am a nervous cat though, and I like my hiding places! I especially like small warm nooks in my foster mom's closet and hiding under her bed. I require a lot of patience and understanding that I sometimes like hiding for a whole day and that sometimes I don't want to snuggle; but I'm really lovey-dovey once you give me adjustment time and space! I would prefer a quiet home with a human who has experience with cats.  Contact my foster mom today to learn more!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
