Watson's Story...
Watson was rescued from a high kill shelter in Memphis. He was on his last 15 minutes of life, where he was going to be killed. He was picked dup by animal control as a stray- emaciated, barely any life or hope left, and barely any hair on his body. The great people at Central Animal Hospital fixed him up and he made his way to Pittsburgh. He is still on the mend, but is doing wonderful! He loves to play with other dogs, and chase the resident Pot Bellied pig around! He loves his toys, romping in the yard, and he may be a Pit Bull, but he is a lap dog! He also sleeps in the bed with his foster mom! Watson is still working on house training, but almost has it down. He is about 8-10 months of age. Check out the before pics of Watson on our Facebook page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Watson, a Pittsburgh American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
