My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joey has come a long way looking for a better life. He was an owner surrender who had never been inside of a house. Joey probably was not the best hunting dog which may be why he was given up. He also has an eye injury, unknown why, but possibly from a BB, as he has a BB under the skin of his left front leg. He may or may not have minimal sight in his left eye, but he is ok! The eye is intact, does not drain at all, and he is such a happy boy! Joey is a 2 yr., DOB 9-6-14, 30# Yellow Beagle mix. Initially, Joey was scared to come into his new foster home. After picking him up to go in and out for a couple weeks, he now enjoys the love of his foster home and goes in and out on his own. Joey is now housetrained, and is one of the sweetest, playful dogs! He is a quiet dog, and only barks occasionally saying he wants to go out or wants your attention. Joey also tested positive for Heartworm, and has recently finished his full treatment. Joey has come so far, and has done so well with everything he has been through. He is a true lover, and will lick your hand to show it. Joey is in a foster home with other dogs which he plays and does well with. He has also been with cats, and would be ok with them too! Joey would be good with children, as long as they like his kisses. A fenced yard would be awesome, as Beagles tend to sniff and wander. Otherwise leash walks and dog parks would be great too! Joey is crate trained, and would like a home where someone is home at least part of the day. If you are searching for a companion who will up look to you as his whole world, Joey may be the boy for you!
