Peeta's Story...

Meet cute little Peeta! Peeta is an 11 week old dachshund mix who was found in a busy parking lot on a super hot day in ruff shape. Now he is doing great and just about ready to meet the world and his new family. Peeta is a very laid back, social, curious and playful little boy. Though he is cautious at first, he warms up quickly and is an EPIC cuddlier. His mantra..."everyone must play with me" so he gets along with EVERYTHING. Peeta loves his crate and will choose to go in it on his own. So crate trained...check! House trained...check! He loves to play in the grass, do zoomies, play chase, well, play with just about anything he can get his paws on.

While he is not quite ready to be adopted when he is, Peeta would do best in a home with other animals as he is very social and has an easy-going temperament. When he is ready for his new family and new life he will go home neutered, with age appropriate vaccinations, a micro chip, and a heart full of love.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peeta, a Phoenix Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
