Important Note

Pebbles (& Wilma) is best friends with Wilma (&Pebbles). Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
**Pebbles and Wilma are only available as foster to adopt as they haven't completed their vetting.**

HISTORY: Wilma was found under some bushes in a park on a very hot day. She had recently given birth to two kittens. Sadly, one of the kittens passed away shortly after birth. Wilma is available for adoption with her surviving kitten, Pebbles.

AGE: We estimate Wilma to be about a year old, born around summer 2015. Pebbles was born 4th of July weekend (2016).

ABOUT: Wilma is a great and attentive mother to her surviving kitten Pebbles. We will be adopting them out as a pair only. They are quite bonded after spending all this time together, just the two of them. Wilma is very laid back. She loves to lounge around and cuddle with people and Pebbles. Wilma is not going to be a “rough and tumble” playmate – she’s more the Audrey Hepburn of the cat family. Wilma will be beyond thrilled the day someone asks if they are sisters instead of mother and daughter. Wilma would be an excellent lap cat, as she loves touch and affection from people. Wilma does like to jump around and play with wand toys and Pebbles, but overall she is fairly calm and laid back. Pebbles is...well...Pebbles is a kitten. She loves everything, gets into everything, and loves everyone. She loves playing with anything you can come up with. Pebbles is cute, and clumsy, and rough-and-tumble. These two ladies are very easy going and flexible so we think they would be a great addition to a variety of different families/situations. They have always been kept separate from other pets in their foster home so we can’t say for certain how they interact with other cats or dogs. They’re not very demanding but we hear they have a soft spot for wet food, and temptations treats. Wilma is still an incredible mom and they are almost always found playing or sleeping together. Wilma is always right there to comfort, or groom, or play with Pebbles. These two beauties would love to start their lives in their forever home soon.

About Lulu's Locker Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lulu’s Locker Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-run companion animal rescue working to bring to light the plight of black cats and dogs in shelters as well as the misconceptions surrounding FIV cats. We aim to lower the euthanasia rate of these animals by educating the public and providing foster care as we seek out permanent homes. We are committed to the protection of the misjudged and wrongly stereotyped through compassion and respect, which we believe both animals and human beings deserve.

We are based out of Frankfort, IL, and rescue cats and dogs in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Our Adoption Process...

We encourage potential adopters to ask friends, family, and Lulu’s Locker about companion animal experiences in their lives. We want to ensure the animal we adopt to you fits well in your home environment. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about long-term animal care prior to adopting! Please contact us via email or phone 708-325-8581.

Everything we do is for the animals in our care, and is aimed at giving them the best possible chance of finding a permanent home.

- Fill out this online Adoption Application to get the process rolling! Copy and paste this URL into your browser -->

- Once your Application is completed, you will have a phone conversation with an adoption counselor.

- Once you’ve been approved, s/he will fill you in on the personalities, history, and behavior of the animals to allow you to make the best choice possible for your living situation. You can ask your counselor any questions you have regarding health, behavior, and long-term care.

- You and all members of your household will then be invited to visit the foster home or boarding facility where the animal is currently living. If you decide adoption is right for you, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee which covers the spay/neuter, wellness exam, vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm test (dogs only).

- Animals are subject to a home visit prior to completion of the adoption process.

- You will ALWAYS have continued support from Lulu’s Locker after your adoption! We invite you to contact us at any time with questions or concerns!
