I'm 1 year and 7 months old and I'm a Double Merle Australian Shepherd. I have impaired sight and possibly impaired hearing but there are no signs that my hearing won't develop.  I'm a 37 lb sweet, lovable guy who just wants a family that will love me, challenge me to be the best I can be (which means let me be the champion Guinness book of records for Lapdog) and never, I mean NEVER feel sorry for me. I don't, and never plan to. I had just finished a full morning of playing with my buddies and romping around the yard, had a great big breakfast and thought, a nap sounds GREAT! I just love my naps!

My Life so far? I LOVE my life so far and look forward to every new day.   We believe I escaped from my family because I have very good manners. But they didn't look for me so Cody's Friends Rescue scooped me up and here I am, I have a completely perfect bill of health from the vet   What  have I learned lately? LOTS!!!! I know sit, stay and I've almost figured out down. We have to work on these with touch signs. I love to give kisses and play wrestle on the floor and above all I LOVE HUGS. I love to run with my pack and play in the dirt.

All someone has to do is meet me and you'll be captivated by my marshmallow like lovability. I'm really not that different than any other dog, you just have to be more aware of my safety and I can't follow you without a leash unless we are in our yard. I am very good at learning area designs. I am crate trained but I'd rather be allowed to run around the house. I bark when I need to go out.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
