I Love My Training Classes!
Ziggy was born about July 20, 2012 and weighs about 30 lbs. He landed in a high kill situation in Illinois! Sadly, maybe the black dog syndrome was his fate and he waited there for two months, being as good as gold, while everyone walked by him as he quietly wiggled and wagged. We were contacted and thought how could we resist such a cutie that was on death row!!! So here he is just a total love. He doesn't care about all he's been through, at first glance you get wiggles and wags and can't help but smile at him. He's not a barky guy, at first we wondered if he could bark at all, but then we found that he would verbalize when he needed to. As for breed he is, obviously, a mix of one or more of long dogs with short legs. He is house trained, good on leash, LOVES going in the car and will comes when called.
Ziggy is a sweet boy and bonds quickly. He loves to walk and run around outside. He can be protective of his handler and because he is somewhat fearful, he can be nippy if approached too quickly. These behaviors can be be managed easily and are currently being worked on. Ziggy is attending Basic Obedience classes to help build his confidence and to learn how to read other dogs during playtime. He is doing very well. Ziggy responds positively to clear direction and will need a home where his humans understand his needs. It will be worth the effort when you see how loyal and loving this boy is. He will give nothing but unconditional love and companionship.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $125.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
