And now, a few words from me:

Hi, my name is Markus, but you can call me Handsome.  I’ve settled in pretty well here, making myself right at home on the comfy couch with the other critters. We all get along great!  We go for walks together and hang out in the backyard too (it’s my job to monitor the squirrel situation).  I know I’m only visiting though, since my forever home hasn’t found me yet.

Sure hope they turn up soon!

And now, a few words from my foster mom:

Little Markus is a low-maintenance, go-with-the-flow, kind of guy.  He takes things as they come and is happiest when he can fit comfortably into a small pack.  Although he came to us from a rural shelter when his time there was up, it’s obvious he was once someone’s beloved pet.  Friendly and engaging, he bonds quickly to his person and basks in any affection shown him. He’s pretty much always smiling.  He’s very quiet in the house, becoming excited first thing in the morning for a little play time, and again when his people return home.   When he hears his name, his little feet can’t bring him over fast enough.  Markus stays loose in the house with other animals throughout the day and is content on the human or dog bed at night.   Outdoors, he enjoys meeting other dogs and people on regular leash walks, during which he rarely pulls or fusses (except, of course, when he spots a squirrel or a bunny). He appreciates a run around or to chase the ball (we’re working on fetch) and will go to the door and wait politely when he’s ready to return inside.

Markus does not like to be left all alone without any company, for this reason a home with another calm dog or a dog and cat would be best. Ideally, his person would also be around throughout the day. He’s sensitive to loud noises and would do best in a relatively quiet home and neighbourhood.

Our Adoption Process...

In order to adopt from us, you need to complete an adoption application. Follow this link

Once the application is completed, it will be reviewed for suitability, and if yes, we will book a telephone interview with you, and check the veterinary and personal references that you provided. If that goes well, a home visit will be booked, and if your home is safe, the adoption can proceed. You will be required to execute and adoption contract and pay a set adoption fee
