Peter's Story...
Hello! My name's Peter! They're guessing I'm around 7 years old, and am a silky terrier mix. I was found as a stray, so no one is sure about my history. I'm a very friendly little guy, and would love to find a new family to spoil me. I would do well in a home with other dogs, and would probably be ok with kids also.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. Do you think you have room in your house and heart for a little guy like me? I'm a pretty mellow guy, so I wouldn't need a lot of exercise...just a nice warm place to lay my head. Are you the special someone I've been waiting for? The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peter, a Youngwood Silky Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Silky Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Silky Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Silky Terrier breeders who help with Silky Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
