We'd like to introduce you to Sunny. He is an 18 month old Lab/ possibly terrier mix who weighs about 70#. He came to us from a rural shelter as an unclaimed stray. Sunny got his name not just because of his blonde good looks, but because it fits his personality perfectly. Sunny seems to have never met a stranger, likes having a good time, and usually has a "smile" on his face. He is always happy! Sunny enjoys spending time with people, male or female dogs, cats, and sometimes even likes to watch the fish in our aquarium. His ideal canine companion would be one that doesn't mind a playful teenager. Sunny likes to play ball, although sometimes he forgets to give it back to you. He enjoys playing "tug" as well. Someone taught Sunny to sit, beg, lie down, and give paw. He seems to love learning, is treat motivated, and would most likely be easy to train. He goes nicely into his crate for a treat. He has had the run of the house at night and for short periods while we're gone with no problems. Sunny is very affectionate and thinks he's a big lap dog; he likes to nap on your lap when he's done playing. He does jump and sometimes grabs your arm or hand with his mouth when he's playing. He is gentle about it, but for that reason, he would probably do best with older children who aren't frightened by his way of playing and his size. Showing him a squirt bottle and saying "no" is all it takes to deter him and he is mouthing less since he's been with us. Like any young dog, Sunny would benefit from basic obedience class. He is fully vetted and on monthly heartworm preventative. Sunny is all-around easygoing and confident dog who would love to find an active family that will include him in their adventures. About Animal Heartline Humane Association

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Heartline was founded by a small group of animal lovers who were individually helping stray and abandoned animals. Becoming chartered in 1979 as a humane society and officially recognized as a not-for-profit group enabled us to care for more animals. We are a no-kill organization staffed entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to finding homes for stray and unwanted pets. We obtain medical treatment for these pets and provide them with food and shelter until permanent, loving homes are found.
