Extra! Extra! Read all about it! We have a paper girl for you!!

Felicia Dorothea is a 2 year old (vets best guess) Plott Hound mix and weighs 50-60 lbs. Felicia loves everyone and is a very playful gal! She gets along with other dogs, cats, horses, and kids. Felicia is searching for her forever home because the lady who found her and nursed her back to health is unable to keep her long term!

The best part is Felicia has been known to go and fetch the paper and bring it to her foster family! The only problem- its the neighbor's paper!!

Felicia is a very happy, playful dog who enjoys being with her people all the time. She is very energetic, but can also be calm and likes to hang out with someone near her.

Felicia was dumped in the country in 2015 and made herself at home in a lady's barn. No luck finding an owner. Felicia loves people, other dogs, and playing with toys. Felicia does NOT like baths and doesn't like being loaded into the car, but rides fine once in the car. She does not like other dogs near her while eating and will snarl (at PAWS we always recommend feeding dogs separate anyways). She does not do this to people.

Felicia knows how to sit and shake. She is working on 'down'. She walks beautifully on a leash. She appears to be house trained. She will fetch and will retrieve in water.

Felicia loves to be active and spend time with people. Her ideal home would be one where she receives lots of attention and space to move. Older children would be great for her or someone who enjoyed walking or jogging. She desperately wants her own person.

Name: Felicia Dorothea
Sex: Female
Breed: Plott Hound Mix
Age: 2 years old
Weight: 55 pounds
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Microchipped: Yes
Heartworm: Negative and on preventative

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Dogs: Fostering with other dogs and does well. She does enjoy playing with other dogs so she needs any active sibling.
Good with Cats: She has been around a barn cat and chased it once but then did fine. May not do well with house cats.
Good with Kids: Fostering with children and does well. Would do best with older children due to her size.

About PAWS NEW ENGLAND

About Our Rescue Group...

PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.

Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are located either in foster homes in New England or Tennessee/Missouri. Please email our volunteers to ask about the specific pet that you are interested in.
