Facts about Sasha Fierce

  • Breed: Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier Mix
  • Color: Silver & Tan (Yorkie Colors)
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Sasha is a ten year old spayed female Yorkshire terrier. She is very sweet and is looking for a forever home where she can have a lap to lay in. Sasha does not like to be left alone and she will cry if separated from her humans. Sasha has had some flea allergies and as a result does have some fine, thin hair. But it is growing back. She must be kept on flea prevention monthly and she eats food with only fish to help her skin not be so dry. She has also recently been started on an oil supplement to help her dandruff. Sasha will have a dental on Friday and it is suspected, she will need to have some teeth removed due to their condition. Sasha has been diagnosed with a collapsing trachea. This is somewhat common in some smaller breeds and Yorkshire terriers are one of those. It causes her to cough at times and usually flares if she gets stressed out. She does take medication in an effort to try and help with this condition. Sasha does not mind other dogs and probably wouldn’t bother a cat although we’ve not had her around one. Sasha needs someone who can learn her cues about when she needs to go outside and potty. She is subtle and will occasionally have an accident in the house. She does not like to be crated for any reason. Sasha is a wonderful little dog. She has been around kids and it has been reported she does fine but Sasha might make an older person a wonderful companion. About Saving Paws Animal Rescue of KY

About Our Rescue Group...

SparKy is a local, non rofit, no-kill, animal rescue. It takes a unique approach to animal rescue through the utilization of "foster homes" to house the animals. These foster homes provide the animals with a loving environment in which their needs are fully met. They also allow the foster parents to assess the temperament of the animals, as well as their individual needs, thus ensuring that the best permanent home possible is found.
Sparky is a true "No-Kill" rescue! Members of SparKy strongly believe in saving lives, and they will go to great lengths to protect animals. No-Kill rescues will ONLY euthanize an animal if it is recommended by a veterinarian due to illness beyond providing the animal a good quality of life, or due to a severe behavioral issue, such as extreme aggressiveness, that places humans and other animals at risk. SparKy will do everything in its power to save the life of an animal!
Members of SparKy have made it a mission, to join in with rescue groups and shelters across America, by focusing on our local community to reduce the number of animals killed each year. SparKy's goals are to educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, and to rescue and re-home homeless adoptable pets.

Our Adoption Process...

All animals cared for by SparKy receive a thorough vet exam, vaccinations, heartworm testing and treatment if needed for dogs, FIV/FeLeuk testing for cats, parasite control, as well as treatment for any illness that they might have. They will also be spayed or neutered, prior to going to their new home. Anyone adopting a pet from SparKy will be required to sign an adoption contract, as well as pay an adoption fee.
