Pixley's Story...
Pixley is one of my very favorite dogs we have ever taken in to our rescue. He has nothing but love in his heart. We pulled him from the Hartford pound when we saw he clearly needed entropian surgery. I took him to his appointments for eye surgery and my husband and I loved bringing him there. He has been in a couple of different homes and despite the love that is in his heart he just has absolutely no manners and is a puppy in a very large body. We are going to work with a trainer to try to refine his manners before we introduce him to another home and then we will make sure he continues with obedience training for anyone who adopts him. This dog is special, he loves with his whole heart, he can't kiss you enough and he can't cuddle with you enough, he just needs to learn his manners and he will be golden. He is fantastic with dogs, a little bit too interested in cats. He is a super boy and he deserves a forever family that will be committed to continuing with his training. Email if interested. He's one of a kind, I tell him he's a diamond in the "ruff".

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixley, a Hartford Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Hartford, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
