Pixley's Story...
Last June we helped this dog, Pixley, that was at the Hartford Pound. He was adopted in October but sadly is not getting along with the male dog in the home any longer. The family has been working with a trainer but unfortunately everyone is in agreement that it is best for both dogs if Pixley is rehomed. We are in need of a foster or forever home for this sweet boy. He does fine with the female dog in the home and he lived with a female dog in foster for months with no issues so we think either a home with no dogs or a home with a submissive female would be best for Pix. He is about 2 old and has been fully vetted. Pixley is a wonderful boy, he is loving and extremely smart and so silly. But he has a ton of energy and he needs an active family that can give him the daily exercise he needs. He adores everyone he meets. Due to his size and energy he would do best in a home with older kids. Kenway's will work with Pixley's new foster or forever family to continue with his training. He has SO much potential and truly is a great dog! If you can help him please email us at kenwayscause@aol.com. Please share him! Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixley, a Hartford Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Hartford, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
