Barbara's Story...
Our one and only Barbara is now available for adoption. Here are some more pictures of this 2 year old Terrier mix in her foster home. To meet Barbara, please call the Rescue at 208-794-0944. Foster mom Julie says: "Barbara Ann, as we now call her, is a sweet, loving, snuggle bug. She is still working to overcome a very traumatic past but has made tremendous strides in the last several weeks. The perfect forever home will consist of someone who is home more than away. This is a priority in order to gain her trust. (She does exhibit abandonment issues.) Once she trusts, she will be very loyal. No small children in the home. Fast movements scare her. She favors women but does comes around to men when they are patient with her. She enjoys being outside and going for long walks. She is learning to play and has only shown mild interest in toys or chasing a ball. This little girl has clearly had a tough life prior to coming to MVHS. She is ready to begin the next chapter in her new, happy, safe life."

If you want to apply for Barbara, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barbara, a Meridian Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
