Hi! I'm Ben! I'm a Leonberger mix, and I might even have some Collie or Pyr in me. All of that makes me a great big gentle guy. Check out my fluffy mush face! I'm built for snuggling!

I'm about 66 lbs. and I love people and other dogs. Imagine me and you, and you and me, so happy together! I am pretty underweight, so I will be about 75 lbs with meat on my bones.

I am still in Texas, but heading up to Colorado soon.

More info will appear here soon, and in the meantime go to summitdogrescue.org for more information!

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip and if your dog is from a heartworm endemic area we include six months of heartworm pills. After 6 months of pills you are required to re-test your dog.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All our dogs are in foster homes.
You have to go through the adoption process and be approved before meeting a dog.

Its an application, two phone interviews and a home visit.

Our Adoption Process...

First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.

We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
