Hank is super sweet 4-year old red shorthair dachshund who gets along with other dogs and laid-back cats who do not run from him. He needs to be in a home with another friendly dog and where someone is around more than not. This affectionate dog sits at his foster mom's feet or lays next to her every chance he gets. He is housebroken and crate trained, although his foster mom does not crate him. He came from a home with children, so would be okay with kind, older kids.
This adorable little guy only weighs about 13 lbs. He needs a fenced-in backyard (not chain link, as he can climb), and someone who will closely supervise him when he is outside. Hank likes to cuddle in bed with his human, but will sleep in his dog bed. He enjoys squeaky toys and chewing on his deer antler. He is shy and cautious of new people, but warms up quickly. He is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heart worm negative and on preventative.
Go online to firstname.lastname@example.org for an application to adopt Hank. His adoption fee is $150.

AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
