Isabelle is an extremely sweet, affectionate, and intelligent dog. She knows quite a few commands and has kind of a lab like personality in that she is always looking to please her people. She has a ton of energy and loves to play, especially with balls. The only toy she doesn't destroy is the black rubber Kong balls, pretty much anything else I've given her gets shredded within 20 minutes.

She loves people and kids, but does not do well with other dogs at all. She is outwardly aggressive towards dogs that are her size or larger. She needs a place that has no other pets and a fenced yard where she can run and play. She will chase squirrels and deer so an electric fence will not work. She would just run through it and get shocked to go after a squirrel.

She's healthy overall, but has issues with skin allergies. Her skin dries out and she starts chewing herself a lot. I use salmon oil in her food (fish based food is what I've had best luck with, poultry seemed to make it worse) and occasionally a Benadryl regimen and she is a lot less itchy.

About Pet Rescue of Maryland

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Rescue of Maryland is a non-profit animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. We are staffed only by volunteers and rely in the kindness of our community to financially support our efforts. We do not have a central shelter. All of our animals are fostered in our homes as if they were our pets. This allows us to assess each animal and help find the home that best fits with their needs. We treat each animal as if they are part of our family until they become part of yours.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold pet adoption events at various pet supply stores a couple of Saturdays a month. Please check our website at http://www.petrescueofmd.org/admin/events/ for event dates and locations.
