I wish I were home with you.

This guy’s a charmer and he knows how to work it!  Carlos is a very sweet cat though he definitely wants to interact with you on his terms – which is, of course, typical cat behavior.  He loves to be petted and will let you know when he’s had enough.  Loves laying in a sunny window.  He may take a little time getting acclimated to your home but should quickly adapt to your household routine.  While he may not ever be a cuddle-buddy, we can see him as a great companion cat once he settles into your home.  Stop in and see Carlos today.

About Northeast Animal Shelter, Inc

About Our Shelter...

Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is the largest shelter in New England that does not destroy any of the pets entrusted to its care. Since we first opened our doors, we have placed over 100,000 dogs and cats in loving homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The Shelter is located approximately 45 minutes northeast of Boston, in Salem, MA. Follow these easy directions:

Route 128 North or South to Exit 26, Lowell Street, Peabody.
Drive east towards Peabody/Salem for 2.5 miles to the end of the road.
Turn right onto route 107 South.
Drive South about 2 miles and make a U-turn at the lights as soon as you pass Puleo's Dairy Bar on the right.
Drive North about 1/4 mile.

Our Adoption Process...

In order to make the proper match between you and your new family member, we require the following:

Bring a tax bill or mortgage statement as proof of home ownership OR a lease stating that you are allowed to have a pet. We also require your landlord's phone number in case we need to speak with him or her.

The entire family must be there for the adoption of an adult dog.
One family member must be at least 21 years of age.
If you are planning to adopt a dog or a puppy, we require that you bring your own dog with you so that s/he can meet your prospective new family member.

We take many things into consideration when making a decision about placing our pets in homes. Every situation is different, so please understand that we are trying to make the best match for both you and our animal friends!
