IMif! Mif is a 2 year old, male, English spaniel. On 2 different occasions strangers have commented on his walks “That dog should be in a shampoo commercial!” as his shiny black coat was blowing in the wind. Mif has a strut that says he knows he is good looking.
Mis loves other dogs but he is not a fan or cats-nor do cats like him. He is 100% housebroken and his foster family does not need to crate him while they are at work, he has not chewed any shoes or destroyed any household items. Mif is happy to play with his squeaky toys. He loves to play fetch, chase bees, go on walks, play with other dogs, and flop onto your lap in a silly way. If you are busy on your laptop he will sneak closer and closer until you discover him in your lap, and then he rolls over for belly rubs. And he has these big brown eyes that will make you melt. His foster mom had a small party at her house, and he went from person to person giving everyone kisses and being a goofball, he was the center of attention!
Mif has had some bad experiences in the past which make him a little fearful sometimes. A previous owner a choke collar as punishment, and Mif will sometimes growls if he feels unsafe. Because of this his foster mom would suggest you put in another room if a service person (plumber, ect.) comes to your home especially if you aren't there to supervise. He quickly gets over his fear once he is introduced to new people and knows the person isn't trying to harm him.
Due to his fearfulness, Mif will do best if he is the only"child" in the family...so, no small children. Miff is a wonderful little guy and will make a great pet, he just needs a home willing to be patient with him. Miff is very smart and learns quickly. In only one day in his foster home, he learned to sit quietly away from the door and wait for a cue to go outside, it just took reinforcement behavior we wanted versus the bahavior we didn't. Now he is being taught the correct way to act and he loves the positive reinforcement (all family members using the same cues). So, Mif asks for just a little patience while he settles into his new routine.
