When Lover-Boy arrived years ago, he was quite aggressive and terrified of people. However, as indicated by his name, he has transformed over the past years into one of the sweetest, most gentle and affectionate cats, who has the dreamiest, most magnetic eyes. Lover boy became domesticated about four years ago. He showed that he had changed, by coming close. (though not allowing himself to be touched), and while looking into your eyes, would slowly semi-close his eyes, wait a few seconds and then open them, never letting go of his gaze. It was because of this that he became known as 'lover-boy'. He has. continued to progress in his socialization and now gives the same 'loving look' but now waits to be caressed or will come over to be petted, while twisting his head from side to side, showing that he wants to be caressed on both sides of his jaw. He is still a little timid and not comfortable being picked up but we are pretty sure he will be ready to lie beside or maybe on you, in not too long a time. He is good with other cats. Loverboy is so ready for his 'forever home' now that he has become sooo affectionate. He has learnt to trust people and just loves it when he is petted. He would do best in a quiet home without too much activity. He deserves being in a home and loved after finally reaching this stage! Lover Boy would be an amazing addition for the right person or couple. Please give this special cat the chance to show you how sociable and warm a fellow he has become!

  • Our Adoption Process...

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
