Romeo's Story...
Romeo lives up to his name; he's a real charmer. He loves to be cuddled and to spend as much time as possible with his foster mom. He's always right there hanging out on the couch as part of the family or snuggling on the bed.

Romeo has an adorable, gigantic head that he loves to rub up against you and try and get you to pet and scratch. He's a very large dapper looking boy with his tuxedo coat and spotless big white paws. He is laid back and easy-going, nothing seems to faze him.

Romeo gets along with other laid back, non-dominant cats and gentle cat-friendly dogs. He loves curling up next to his foster mom on the couch while she watches TV or reads and he is a snuggle bug in bed at night.

Romeo was rescued from a high kill shelter where he was taken as a stray. As a result, he is making it his goal in life to show his gratitude with his loud purrs and cuddles.
Romeo was born in July 2013. He has been neutered, micro chipped, and is up to date on all of his vaccines. He tested negative for feline leukemia, but positive for FIV which you can read more about here

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romeo, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
